Credits: 4 Prerequisite: ACCT 2011 This is an introductory course covering the explanation, interpretations and application of individual income tax, partnership taxation and corporate taxation. The student will prepare 1040 tax returns with all appropriate schedules both manually and computerized with related tax planning strategies. The student will also prepare business tax returns with appropriate schedules and related tax planning. Preparation of returns through the VITA program will be encouraged, but not required. Students will volunteer to prepare individual tax returns at a VITA site of their choosing within a 60-mile radius of Central Lakes College. Transfer Curriculum Goal(s): none ACCT 2350 Accounting Internship Credits: 1-9 Prerequisite: instructor's consent The accounting internship is designed to provide the student with a purposeful occupational experience. Since each internship is an individualized experience, a training plan is specifically created for each student in conjunction with the training site to which the student is assigned.
