Writing for the Media Pre: Co: Learn how to research, compose and distribute press releases and PSAs, "backgrounders," simple articles, and other written pieces for print and electronic media. The course will include exercises that enhance basic writing skills as well as information about how to effectively work with the media.

Trompe l'oeil Painting Pre: Co: Learn the art of painting objects on flat surfaces that will "fool the eye" into believing that they are three-dimensional, by using the Trompe l'oeil technique. A step-by-step introduction into the process of perspective, shadows, and templates as you learn to create this fascinating method of painting. A brief time will be spent on the history of Trompe l'oeil painting. Bring an inexpensive 8"x10" sketchbook, a pencil, soft erasure and a 12" ruler. A $20 material fee is paid to the instructor the first week.
