CSA 540: Changing Careers At Mid-Life
0.00 Credits
North Shore Community College
Changing Careers at Mid-Life Changing careers, especially at mid life, can be a confusing intimidating, and sometimes, overwhelming, experience. On the other hand, it can be just the thing that brings a real spark and exuberance back into your life. This eight-week workshop will target both the "So who am I?", "What else can I do?" questions -- and the somewhat daunting task of "How do I do it?" There is no one way to succeed at this task. Each person must follow his/her own path. Through the use of numerous inventories, readings, and tools that will be presented, we will explore the options for retraining, relocating, crossing over into a related field, or confirming your present path but replacing the environment. You will learn how to make the most of your own unique abilities and get started on a more satisfying path. This workshop will guide you through every step, from preparing for the emotional impact of change, through assessing yourself, your skills, interests, values and personality preferences to building confidence and mastering the tools of the job search. "If you haven't the strength to impose your own terms upon life, then you must accept the terms if offers you." T.S. Elliot
