Introduction to HACCP Pre: Co: Learn nationally and internationally accepted HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards and be able to effectively implement a successful HACCP plan. You will study practical, real world interactive case studies that cover the "five preliminary steps" of a HACCP plan and the application of its "seven principals." Also included are HACCP plan development forms that can be used in the creation of your program. This program is a must for food industry educators, food manufacturers, healthcare facilities, foodservice operations, and retail food purveyors, and any organization or business that handles or transports food products. A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Certified Food Safety Professional Pre: Co: A Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP) is a credential recognized by the Counsel on Food Safety as the minimum standard for public health inspectors who are responsible for assuring a safe food supply. Qualified students can earn this certification through the National Environmental Health Association by passing a standardized exam held on the last day of class. The course is designed around exercises and lectures from a required textbook and study guide to prepare students to pass the CFSP exam. Prerequisite: successful completion of a food safety management course such as ServeSafe. Please visit the NEHA website at www.neha.org for more information on qualifications, application and testing fees. You must download the test and submit it to NEHA postmarked at least four weeks prior to the test date. A coupon from NEHA is required as entry to the test. You must purchase the required textbook from NEHA before class begins. The cost to register for this class at NSCC is seperate from NEHA fee's, payable to the college upon registration.
