Participants will obtain a general understanding of the variety of networks available and the specific reasons for networking a computer system. We will focus on the features the user needs to know to accomplish the basic tasks required of most general applications running under UNIX.     Pre: Co: Elect: This six week course is a continuation of the Word Perfect 5.1 introductory course. It will help the user with specific office or home tasks. After a brieg review of the 5.1 command structure and common tasks, we will focus on such topics as merging, macros, test tables, sorting, styles, labels for enveloped and mailing labels, etc. There will be time to practice new skills and to ask questions about parts of the program not being covered.     Pre: Co: Elect: AUTOCAD: ADVANCED: Continuation of topics presented in AutoCAD: An Introduction. Three dimensional drawing techniques are presented, including the use of user coordinate systems and controlling the 3-D display. Multiview layouts are presented and plotted. Use a simple text editor for the creation of script file is employed to produce slide shows. Attributes are explained and demonstrated. The Advanced Modeling Extension is used to create solid models with primitives. Extensive use of the CAD workstation is employed. Prerequisite: AutoCAD Introduction or equivalent.

    Accounting on the Computer: Payroll and Taxes This course emphasizes the "how to" approach and practical applications of payroll and its related taxes on the computer and uses a written mini practice set. Prerequisite for this course is Accounting and Bookkeeping on the Computer or equivalent experience. Text is required (same text as used in Bookkeeping and Accounting Courses).
