Appraising the Single Family Residence (REA1A) Pre: Co: Elect: This practical course will teach new and experienced appraisers the most current methods of analyzing market data and effective report writing. A case study of actual market-extracted data is used to illustrate the appraisal process. Participants learn how to present their conclusions in a formal detailed narrative report, in a FNMA/FHLMC form and in a proper letter of opinion. Real Estate Appraisal I (REA1) is a prerequisite for REA1A and, along with standards and professional practices, completes the educational requirements of a RA (Residential Appraisal) designation of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers. This course will empower you to market yourself successfully and obtain the job that you deserve. We will examine your career objectives, critique your resume and cover letters, and vidoetape role-play interviews to be viewed by the class. Both local and long distance job search resources and techniques will be examined. Class size limited. Students provide blank VHS tape.

Pre: Co: Elect: This six week course will introduce new users to the Word Perfect program using the new Version 5.1. The classes will cover everything from creating, editing, saving, printing work and include search and replace, merge letters, "boiler plate" letters,and an introduction to the command line system. Students MUST be able to type and know the typewriter keyboard. Between classes students will be able to use NSCC modern computer labs to review and to practice. The type of disk students will have to purchase will be discussed at the first meeting.
