    Landscape and Garden Maintenance - Spring, North Andover Pre: Co: Enjoy learning "on-site" at Stevens Collidge Place in North Andover, managed by the Trustees of Reservations. This outstanding 91-acre Colonial Revival estate is a typical "country place" of the early 1900's- a rural retreat designed as a complex of garden "rooms." This is a hands-on opportunity to participate in spring landscaping and garden maintenance with a field professional/supervisor.

Design techniques for ceremony arrangements, pew decorations, head table arrangements, centerpieces, and other ideas. Bring scissors and wire cutters.     Landscape and Garden Maintenance - Summer, Beverly Pre: Co: Gain hands-on experience at Long Hill, an outstanding country estate with historic gardens in Beverly, owned by the Trustees of Reservations. Participate in summer landscaping and garden maintenance supervised by the Long Hill staff horticulturalists. Learn about planting, weed identification/removal, garden rejuvenation, summer pruning (including hedges), mulching, propagation by cuttings, stone laying, landscape equipment, design of summer containers, and more. Informational handouts provideds. Students select two of three mornings (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).

    Pre: Co: Elect: COSTUMING FOR THE AMATEUR: Designed for people with an interest in costuming, this hands-on course will emphasize the art of costuming from an historical and practical point of view. We will examine ways to costume everything from a community stage production to special social event. The class will include a field trip to the Beverly Historical Society's tectile and costume department. Participants will be encouraged to design their own costume by the final meeting. All are welcome - no experience necessary!

Learn traditional and popular styles as well as proper construction techniques incorporated in completing them. Please bring scissors and wire cutters.     4 Seasons Landscape Design Successful completion of Landscape Design Basics and/or knowledge of landscape design techniques required. Students will be challenged by more complex projects and expand upon existing knowledge by exploring design projects that represent the 4 seasons of New England. Creative and accurate plant selection and site selection will be discussed and critiqued in class. Bring any books and drafting materials needed for design projects to each class. Four projects will be completed.

    Summer Florals & Craftmaking Be creative using natural materials, summer flowers and botanicals to decorate your home. Learn about the care and culture of many colorful, flowering plants, how to identify them and which species will easily dry best. There will be five exciting floral projects to design; they include a fragrant table centerpiece, an everlasting wall wreath, two stunning fresh flower arrangements and a "florists choice", special arrangement. Students will reimburse the instructor $15 per week for floral supplies and materials. Everyone who loves flowers and crafting is welcome to register.
