    Fresh Flower & Evergreen Rope Garlands One-Day Workshop Come learn the technique of designing a fresh gardland known as "roping". We will each make a 6-8' garland of assorted fresh balsam, pine and evergreens, adding ornaments, cones and ribbons as we go. For the finishing touch, your instructor will demonstrat "how to" attach fresh flowers to last throughout the holidays. Supply Fee of $15 is payable to the instructor during the first class for greenery and ornaments.

    Fresh Flower & Vase Arrangements Would you like to know how to make those "supermarket flowers" look stunning in a vase? Learn many successful tips and design techniques about arranging these next four weeks. We will expand upon and become more creative with each lovely project. You will create a gorgeous, "garden or cottage style arrangement, a "loose & airy" style and a "long & low" arrangement. Casual to elegant demonstrations on vase arrangements will be displayed. This could be the perfect time to bring those design questions that you need answered. those questions that you want answered.

    The Professional Florist Series Maryann Stenson of "Bloomings by M" in Beverly Farms starts off our series with 6 delightful projects for intermediate to advanced floral design students. Projects include a Flower Waterfall, Negative Space and Framing Exotics, Spring Flowers in French Rococo Style, Victorian Tussy Mussy, Dried Flowers and Found Objects and a Mother's Day Basket. Prerequisites: Floral Design 1 and 2 skills required.

    Sympathy Floral Art Pre: Co: This advanced course will instruct you on the wide variety of sympathy arrangements available. Establish a bond of caring and comfort when working with grieved family members and friends during the ordering of flowers. Designs cover large casket pieces, crosses, hearts, sprays, table pieces, inside the casket tributes, and special requested projects. A $90 perishables fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Prerequisite: Floral Design I.

    Topiary Collection One-Day Workshop Discover the "old world" English art of designing "topiaries". You will make four (4) different arrangements which include one of fragrant lavender, another using baby rosebuds, design one in soft, green moss and another using freeze dried roses. The collection will be displayed in individual clay pots embellished with a variety of beautiful and unusual ribbons. A supply fee of $15 is payable to the instructor during the first class.

    Wedding & Specialty Floral Design Truly the most rewarding, yet one of the most challenging "specialty areas" for designers! This course will teach you the delicate art of wiring flowers for corsages and boutonnieres. You will learn how to: assemble hairpieces and a variety of bouquets, as well as design flowers for the entire wedding party. Learn visualization techniques enabling you to picture "how to" decorate the church and the function hall. Develop and acquire best methods in dealing with the bride who has no idea of what she wants vs. dealing with one who comes with books, pictures and specific arrangements she would like duplicated. Learn about traditional vs. elaborate weddings requiring great detail. Pricing weddings is truly an art and will be thoroughly discussed in class.     Pre: Co: Elect: EXPLORING ACTING: Attention adults: It's time to act on your impulse to act! In a friendly, noncompetitive environment. You will learn how to feel more comfortable and be more effective in several types of audition situations, including cold readings, scene readings, and acting out prepared monologues. This course will benefit any high school or college-age actor facing auditions for school, community, college, or university productions. Junior high students may register only with instructor permission. Bring a lunch, and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

    Spring Florals & Craftmaking Enjoy decorating your home with springtime floral arrngements and a lovely variety of crafts. Learn the trade techniques and skills involved in creating wreaths, centerpieces, wall ornaments and door decorations. A colorful array of dried flower materials of statice, eucalyptus, baby's breath, seasonal botanics, ribbons and lace are all included. Here you will find many opportunities to exchange ideas, share new ones, meet new friends and design many special projects. A wholesale supply fee of $12 per week is payable (2 weeks in advance) to the instructor during the first night of class. NOte: This course is part of the noncredit 1997 Floral Design Certificate Program, however, you do not need to enroll in e program to take this course.
