Pre: Co: Elect: Simple two or three-dimensional shapes can be transformed into attractive works of arts with some imaginative painting and decoration! This six-week class will introduce participants to a variety of decorative skills, including brush work and stenciling. Wooden shapes, acrylics, and other basic supplies will be included in the course fee. Come and join us this fall - increase your creativity - develop your imagination - and construct some interesting decorations for yourself or your firends! Recommended for junior high level.

Pre: Co: Elect: PICTURE FRAMING WORKSHOP: Many schools suggest ways to create beautiful artwork, but do not teach you proper presentation skills. This practical workshop will teach you how to properly cut beveled mats, discuss the importance of colr, and show you how work change with different spproaches to framing. Please pay $15 to the instructor at the first meeting for materials, and bring a modest work for completion. Class limited to 10 students. Pre: Co: Elect: LIFE DRAWING: From the Renaissance to the present, artists have returned again and again to the study of the figure as the surest source of inspiration adn instruction. This course will wmphasize proportion and anatomy drawings, utilizing models. Students will learn to improve their individual skills in only 7 sessions. Students should bring $10 to the first class for modeling fee.

Pre: Co: Elect: FIGURE DRAWING: Human anatomy had intrigued artists from the dawn of time. This "life drawing" class will explore methods such as contour, gesture, modeling adn posture, as well as positive/negative space to create figurative work on a two-dimensional surface. Every attempt will be made to individuals instruction at each student's level. Bring newsprint pad, pencils and charcoal to the first class. Additional supplies will be mentioned at that time. A minimal fee for models should be payable to the instructor. Limited to 15 students.

Pre: Co: Elect: DRAWING FOR ADULTS: Participants will develop skills to enable them to translate both observed and imagined images into drawings. Drawing is the basic for most vital art. Through experimentation and technical exercises, we will explore: line and mark making, vloume, perspective, composition, and creative expression. Emphasis will be placed on improving powers of observation. Students should obtain a sketchbook, drawing pencils, charcoal, pen and ink (or brush). Additional materials, if needed, will be mentioned at the first meeting.
