    Pre: Co: Elect: PAPER PULP PAINTING: Using ancient and traditional methods of papermaking, we will learn how to create some exciting "paintings" or "sculptures." Emphasis will be placed on creativity. Please bring th e following to the first class; a 13"x17"x12" plastic tub, a 1"x1" wood strip 50" long, hammer, saw and 4 corrugted nails. The cost of pulp and pigment ($10) should be paid to the instructor at the first meeting.

    Pre: Co: Elect: LANDSCAPE PAINTING: Welcome to a journey into our natural environment through this landscape painting workshop. We will be sketching & painting at some very inspirational sites. Join us and become familiar with the basics of landscape painting today. Our group will meet together for 3 Saturday a.m. art sessions. The last session will meet one evening, indoors for a lively group critique. A materials list, and designed locations will be mailed to registered students. Limited to 15 students with transportation.

    Pre: Co: Elect: OIL PAINTING FROM HISTORY: This unique class will enable beginners and advanced beginners to learn important aspects of art history while painting at the same time! We will begin by exploring important developments of impressionism. Each class will include slides and a brief discussion. Emphasis will be placed on studio skills. Materials; oil paints. canvas board or masonite 9gesso required with masonite), various brushes, disposable palettes and odorless paint thinner.

    Pre: Co: Elect: EXPRESSIVE OIL PAINTING: This course is a structured introduction to painting in oils for the beginner, dabbler or interested person. There will be a general orientation to "realistic" painting with an emphasis on the medium's expressive capabilities. Exercises will include work with still life, interior and some figure. Come equipped to paint with a stretched canvas panel, a set of paints, linseed oil, turpentine, different size brushes, palette knife, empty coffee can, and a rag.

    Pre: Co: Elect: FROM DRAWING TO WATERCOLOR: Drawing skills are so essential to beginning artists! This class, designed for people with little or no experience, will begin with basic drawing techniques and soon make a transition into watercolor painting. Please bring a medium-size pad of newsprint, soft vine charcoal, and a a kneaded eraser to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed at that time.
