You will be work- ing with actual plants in this class, so bring your senses to be prepared to taste, touch and smell. You will meet and work with the most popular herbal stars like St. John's Wort, Echinacea and many others, learning "how to" cultivate use and preserve them and also "how to" incorporate flavorful flowers into every- day culinary foods, ex: salads, beverages, and baked goods. You will also investigate herbs and plants used as beneficial medicines.

    Decorative Furniture Painting Pre: Co: A holiday gift needed for a special someone? Create a personalized hand-painted treasure. Start with a pre-made small wooden stepstool, box, or item of your choice and use acrylic paints to decorate it. Learn preparation of the surface, creating a design, and a variety of paint application techniques. The first class we'll look at samples of finished pieces, options for wooden objects to paint, and working up design ideas. A supply list of paints, brushes, and a list of wooden pieces for the project will be provided. Come join the fun while creating a personal keepsake or gift to treasure!

    Creative Collage Design Teachers, artists, crafters and seniors of all skill levels will enjoy this class exploring and utilizing materials and creative thinking in designing and completing a unique art project. Materials can include fabric, papers, paints, ink, personal artifacts, found objects, etc... You may want to try using stencils or a "freehand" approach. This is a "hand on" class, so if you have an air brush, bring it to class with you. The instructor will demonstrate "how to" design in miniature and discuss the supplies needed for "nail art". Limited enrollment.
