    Pattern Making for Beginners Pre: Co: Are you tired of commercial patterns and would like your custom fit pattern? Learn the basic technique of pattern design, which involves taking measurements from a model and creating basic patterns. You will also modify your custom pattern to create a variety of silhouettes (pencil, A-line, bubble hem). You will also make a garment during the class and create a sample notebook. A comprehensive handout and some supplies will be provided for the class. Sewing machine required. A $25 fee for supplies is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Explore panoramic photography, macro photography, time lapse photography, nighttime photography, stop motion photography, 3-D photography, pinhole photography and alternative lenses. Examples of each type of photography will be shown and equipment will be demonstrated. We will focus on having fun with these techniques but we will also discuss the financial opportunities they present.

    Acrylic Painting - Beginners This still life beginning painting course will introduce students to the lovely and versatile medium of acrylics. We will enjoy learning about color theory, the use of glazing techniques, the history of acrylic painting and artists who use this medium. Working in groups and one-on-one, we will begin a creative journey into creating beautiful stll life paintings.

Claude Monet for painters, color can also be opportunity to constantly be learning and discovering new interactions. If you have ever wondered about what tones, tints, and shades were, this workshop will demystify color. Students will examine color analytically and emotionally. We experience the world around us and within ourselves, like tension, relaxation, rising, falling, movement, and stillness - these are described as patterns of forces, what art does is make these themes visible by arranging shape, color, and form to evoke these forces. Works of art carry meaning through this arranging and ordering. The focus of this is to sharpen these skills while having fun with out watercolors! Please bring your watercolor paints, brushes, and watercolor paper to work on.
