    The Pantry Basket Pre: Co: The "Pantry Basket" is a traditional basket designed to fit the shorter shelves found in an old pantry. Woven on a rectangular oak hoop, it measures 12 inches. A 1-inch strip is woven into the center using red, green or blue reed accents on either side. Please bring a 5-gallon bucket for water, a ruler, pencil and sharp scissors or cutters. Materials cost is $18, payable to instructor at the first class.

    Backyard Chickens - Are They For You? Pre: Co: Are you thinking about starting your own flock of chickens and want some guidance? We will visit a backyard flock, see a working setup, and talk about basic chicken biology. Feed, water, nesting, roosting, bedding, and fencing will be discussed and debated. We hope you will get the answers to your chicken questions as they apply to your situation and come away ready to refine your own plans for backyard chickens.

    A Singing Workshop Pre: Co: ...."If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk, you can sing!" Acclaimed by the Boston Globe as, "The area's pre-eminent interpreters of Broadway classics," and the Boston Herald as, "Simply the best!" Lynne Jackson and Mike Palter bring their celebrated performing and teaching talents to a three-hour session on singing technique with unique exercises, voice analysis and performance tips. Participants will analyze their own unique site conditions and lay the ground work for creating their organic garden. A combination of lecture and hands-on planning sessions will give you customized direction on your personal gardening goals.

    Permaculture: Sustainable Design Pre: Co: Create landscape plans that are ecologically sound and economically minded. Create designs which provide for their own needs, do not exploit or pollute, and are therefore sustainable in the long term. Permaculture uses the inherent qualities of plants and animals combined with the natural characteristics of landscapes and structures to produce a life-supporting system for city and country using the smallest practical area. A system by which we can exist on earth by using energy that is naturally in flux and relatively harmless, and by using food and natural resources that are abundant, beautiful and work with our landscape and planet. Prerequisite: Landscape Design Basics I Textbook required: available at the Danvers campus bookstore.

    The Gardener's Palette Pre: Co: Create and implement beautiful and effective color schemes for your garden! By looking at color in landscapes, and in the works of master painters, you will see how art borrows its hues from nature. This class explores the color schemes that appealed to painters from Turner to Monet and van Gogh. Whether you are creating colorful pots and containers or making plant selections to enhance the colors that are already part of your outdoor space, the gardener's palette will give you the courage to experiment and the know-how to succeed in giving your garden the artist's touch.

    Stained Glass II - Lamps Here it is - an advanced class for the stained glass enthusiast. Each student will learn the intricate techniques used in cutting and then putting together the ultimate project: a beautiful "stained glass lamp". This pattern will be a colorful, yet basic, mantel lamp - not too complicated. You have the opportunity to put your foiling and soldering expertise to the test to create a one - of -a kind gem. A supply & information sheet will be mailed to registered students. A good working knowledge of stained glass basic is required.

    Beekeeping-From A to BEES Pre: Co: Learn from an expert beekeeper all about bees, beekeeping, and acquiring the necessary equipment to get you started. An $18 fee is payable to the instructor ($15 for textbook; $3 for supplies to build a frame). A field trip will take place on Saturday, April 9th.
