    Art of Flower Arranging Pre: Co: Elect: Enjoy creating fresh flower arrangements while learning about the techniques and proper florist forms used in this craft. Your arrangements will contain both native botanicals and an array of fresh seasonal flowers purchased fresh from the flower market in Boston. Several creative styles will be designed: formal triangle, long low, mound and vase arrangements. Students will reimburse the instructor for flower purchases and florist items (approximately $11.00 per week) payable 2 weeks in advance.

    Artful Flowers Pre: Co: Have fun designing artful forms with flowers. Learn the techniques and materials needed to create various designs such as ice cream sodas and birthday cakes, cuddly cats and dogs, topiaries and other objects. Bring clippers and a floral knife, or tools can be purchased in class. A $120 perishables fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

    Jewelry and Metalsmithing: Introduction Pre: Co: Design unique pieces of jewelry using basic metalsmithing techniques. Learn how to form metal sheet and wire by filing, sanding, dapping, disc cutting, corrugating, twisting and coiling. Apply decorative surface embellishments and symbol and letter stamping. Enhance your jewelry with semi-precious stones. Tools and equipment provided. A $50 materials kit (copper sheet, silver wire, polishing materials, and a selection of semi precious stones) is payable to instructor at first class.     Sterling Silver Necklace and Bracelet Workshop Pre: Co: Design a unique personalized cuff bracelet and necklace. Using sterling silver and copper stamp a quote, secret message, name, date or symbol. Apply decorative surface techniques and embellishments by roller embossing a graphic design pattern or texture. Enhance your necklace by adding a cluster of Swarovsky crystals. All tools and equipment will be provided by the instructor. A $25 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

    Natural Herbal Skincare Pre: Co: Simple, chemical-free, natural products for skincare: you can make them yourself, or at least recognize what's good and what's not on the store shelf. Learn about skin-loving herbs and oils and easy-to-make salves, lotions, scrubs and more. Make one or two products to take home. The class will include information on harmful chemicals, so you can take charge of your skin's health! A $30 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Learn the basics to make herbal infused oils, salves, lotions, and your own skin-soaking preparations without any synthetic ingredients. Especially helpful for those with sensitive skin. Bring home a lip balm, healing salve, and lotion, scented with individual choices of essential oils. A $12 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

    Roots and Fruits: Wild Foods of Autumn Pre: Co: Wild foods (many known simply as "weeds") are available for much of the autumn. Join wild foods enthusiast and herbalist Iris Weaver in discovering some of the wonderfully tasty and nutritious vegetables and other delectables that grow in your yard or the city park. Learn to identify some of these foods, understand safety guidelines, and taste some recipes to whet your appetite! Handouts and samples included. A $3.00 materials fee is payable to the instructor the first night of class.

In this informational workshop watch a DVD, "Contaminated Without Consent", from the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow, then join in a discussion of what you can do to positively affect your home and public environment. Information on safe, healthy alternatives for cleaning your home will be introduced. Start your own Green Clean Team!
