    Folk Fever Pre: Co: Elect: America's wonderful folk music tradition should never be forgotten! Using songs from varous regions, including the important blues form, we will capture some American history in sound. Anyone now playing a folk instrument (fiddle, banjo, acoustic guitar, string bass, harmonica, dulcimer) may register. This class is ideal for musicians who are ready to play with new friends. Students should have a good knowledge of their instruments from tuning to playing.

    Color Mixing in Watercolor Pre: Co: Make vibrant, dramatic, harmonious and dynamic paintings in watercolor. Focus on learning to turn primary colors into secondary colors, working with complimentary colors, warm and cool. Create harmony with analogous colors. A materials list will be provided at the first class. If you have watercolor supplies, please bring them. If not, the instructor will supply everything you need for the first class.

    Digital Scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements Pre: Co: Amateur scrapbooker use Photoshop Elements and basic digital skills to improve your scrapbooking skills and enhance your final scrapbooking product. Use this inexpensive digital imaging took to perform such functions as: cataloging, image tagging, image correction and repair, adding text to images, creating montages, and creating special graphics effects such as borders, vignettes, patterns and more.     Pastels-A Colorful World Pre: Co: Elect: Introduce yourself to this expressive and exciting art medium in our informal group. Students will learn the proper techniques of this medium while developing their own personal style. You can create soft and sensitive images or more vigorous and dynamic art. This is a good opportunity to translate your drawing skills into a working knowledge of color or develop your painting skills through the use of a dry medium while receiving individualized instruction. Color therory will be taught. For optimum results, students should bring a 24-set of pastels, 6 large sheets of toned pastel paper, a newsprint pad, and a stiff drawing board.

    Acting Out in Great Boston Part I Pre: Co: Does it excite you to think that you could appear with Matt Damon in "The Departed," be an extra in "Fever Pitch," or audition for a major local stage production? Use the acting/ auditioning techniques you learn in class, and apply them to acting opportunities from Greater Boston to New York. Whether community theater, film, professional theater or commercial work is your goal, we can create a pragmatic strategy to expand your talent arenas. Part I will focus on theatrical resumes, headshots, and appropriate monologue choices, and on-line resources for auditions. Optional photo/shoot will be available for an additional fee (alternatives will be discussed.)

Use the acting/ techniques you learn in class, and apply them to acting opportunities from Greater Boston to New York. Whether community theater, film, professional theater or commercial work is your goal, we can create a pragmatic strategy to expand your talent arenas. Focus in Part II will include a mock stage, film, audition piece. The "secrets" to successful auditioning will be among the discussions. The class may attend an official audition as a group.

    Performance Workshop Pre: Co: Are you prepared to have some fun? Together, we will select comedic/dramatic monologues and scene studies and work them up to performance level. If there is something you have always wanted to do, now is your golden opportunity. If you have always wanted to try acting or have had some experiences along the way, we want Y-O-U! Half the fun will be in finding the props and "costuming." We will produce our mini-show for family and friends, just for the love of it, in the final class.

    Le Grande Debate Pre: Co: Join a diverse group of individuals for stimulating, and sometimes, provoactive discussions on topical issues! Subject matter includes, but is not limited to, psychology, philosophy, theology and current social issues. We will begin with a discussion on "Soldiers Against Iraq Desert to Canada." The class will then decide on future topics.

    Singles Cinema Pre: Co: Join an eclectic assemblage of singles for an international film festival, fun, and a lively discussion! This seminar includes a brief history of the weekly film and some of the aesthetics and techniques used by their filmmakers. Participants will exercise their input by creating a "wish list" of viewing choices.

    Three More Paintings in One Day! Pre: Co: Another one-day workshop designed to get your paintings moving. We will expand on techniques learned in "Three Paintings in One Day", focusing on color, composition and drawing. Students will work on both large and small canvases. You'll have another three to hang up at home! Open to all levels. A $15 materials fee is payable to the instructor in class.
