    Experimenting in Watercolors A course for beginners which will include composition, mixing colors, the painting process, use of brush strokes and experimenting with various watercolor techniques. Our focus will be on the individual's personal expression and the aesthetic enjoyment derived in creating and painting scenes of nature and in still life. Bring paints, water- color paper, brushes and inexpensive drawing paper to the first class. A basic supply and information sheet will be mailed to each registered student.

    Clothing Construction Pre: Co: Expand upon your experience. Learn different seams, zipper applications and hand stitching techniques. Sewing Basics or previous sewing experience is required. Please bring your own sewing machine, a spool of black thread, scissors and a yard of muslin. A detailed list of sewing tools will be discussed in class, along with patterns for projects.     Stained Glass & Suncatchers Pre: Co: Elect: This is a fun, inexpensive, and rewarding approach to the art of stained glass. Students will learn cutting glass, copper foiling, soldering, color design and pattern techniques. An array of projects will be made available to create such pieces as a multi-colored, stained glass jewelry box, a jewel outlined hand mirror, a unique kaleidoscope or eye-catching, window suncatchers. You can even create your own designs. Glass cutters, soldering iron, copper foil, flux, lead and an extensive variety of colored glass will be made availabe for a supply fee of $25, payable to the instructor during the first class. A supply and infor- mation sheet will be mailed to registered students.

Through a fun creative process express yourself, unearth your emotions, explore one's subconscious, and learn how to use art as a means of reducing and managing life's stress. Learn the basics to make all types of delicious breads, from rosemary garlic pesto, to multigrain, to Challah and Brioche.     Make Your Colors Sing! Pre: Co: If you have always wondered why you get mud every time you mix colors, this mini-workshop will explain why. In-class projects will take the mystery out of color theory and help you put it into practice. Students will be supplied with all required materials. A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor in class.

    This course is designed for those who wish to develop the skill of beautiful lettering, known as calligraphy. A variety of methods will be introduced, showing the diversity of this art. At the completion of the course, students should be able to handletter poems, invitations, greeting cards, or other personal projects. For optimum results, outside practice exercises, in addition to class time, will be expected. Matrials will cost approximately $18 and will be discussed the first class. A basic supply list will be mailed to students.

    Night Photography Pre: Co: Normally photographers seek the light ignoring the night's unique opportunities. Learn to take advantage of the slow shutter speeds required of low light. We will both photograh at night and use Photoshop to enhance our night photography through a combination of field trips and classroom study. Students should have access to a tripod and be prepared to use their camera manually.
