Fundamentals of Mammography Prerequisite: Registered Radiologic Technologist This course is designed to prepare the radiologic technologist for the Advanced Level Examination in Mammography. The responsibilities of the mammographer which include patient education, patient assessment, production of the mammographic image, processing of the image, quality control testing, and record keeping will be covered. The course will provide the technologist with an understanding of breast anatomy, breast disease, mammographic equipment, mammographic technique and mammography positioning which is essential prior to the commencement of clinical mammographic training. MASA and Massachusetts state regulations, as well as radiation safety will be included. Up to 40 CEUs will be awarded based upon hours of attendance.
