We'll discuss nutrient function and requirements along with current theories of the impact of nutrition on Health and Disease. Nutrition in the 90's The course is designed for the health conscious individual who wishes to learn how his or her diet impacts health and the waistline. Topics will include preventing heart disease and cancer by lowering cholesterol and consumption of antioxidant rich foods, exploration of food labels, the fat-calorie connection, fast food and restaurant eating, and healthy cooking. The last class will include a cooking demonstration and low fat feast (cost included in tuition). Time will be set aside for individual questions.

Tui-Na Therapy: Chinese Physical Therapy Tui-Na is based on treating the vitality of our "Life Energy," the bio-electrical force that surrounds us. It is a Chinese name for healing massage also known as Chinese physical therapy. This is a treatment of using unique techniques of body manipulations that addresses a variety of conditions. According to (T.C.M.) Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tui-Na is a preactical method of healing alaong with the use of herbs and acupuncture for expelling or envigorating stagnant or deficient life energy. The health professionals or individuals with an interest in Tui-Na are welcome to register.
