    Pre: Co: Elect: LISTENING TO WORLD BAND RADIO: The instructor will cover non technical info and demonstrate the operation of the Sangean Short Wave Receiver. He will show students how to tune in directly (without commercials) to Beijing, Tokyo, London, Quito, Ecuador, The Netherlands--up to 60 stations over the word broadcasting in English. You do not need to bring a short-wave radio.

    Pre: Co: Elect: If you have not yet tried a stable, responsive seak kayak, now is the time to do it! Our clinic will cover strokes, safety, types of boats and equipment and knowledge of tides and currents, while we paddle in the protected, island-dotted waters of Little Harbor. We will be using both single and double kayaks, and all equipment will be furnished. Wear clothes and sneakers you don't mind getting wet. A wetsuit and booties are great if you have them. If not, clothing appropriate for the weather is suggested. No cotton, please! Remember New England water is always cold.

    Pre: Co: Elect: Are you intrigued by rock climbing but don't know where to start? Nothing beats the feel of real rock and the pleasure of being in the outdoor environment. Learn the basics from our very supportive, no pressure staff in this one-day, on-site clinc. Topics covered include knot tying, rope handling, belaying, rappelling, plus the principles and standard commands necessary for safe climbing. Types and cost of equipment will also be discussed.     Pre: Co: Elect: Chess is easy to learn but difficult to master. This course will remove the difficulty. Be a better player-chess is a skill, not luck. Tactics, and strategy to be discussed as related to the opening, middle and end game. Participants will play one another along with instructor. Participants must know basics (moves of pieces) and some rules. Bring set and board if you have one; instructor will also bring extra sets.`

    Pre: Co: Elect: The Saco originates in Crawford Notch, winds its way through the White Mountains into Maine at Fryeburg, and continues for another 40 miles to the Atlantic Although the river gives a wilderness effect, a public road is never more than a short distance away. Paddle a 10-15 mile stretch between Fryeburg and Hirman and camp on the riverside. All ages and levels of ability are welcome. Includes transportation, food, all canoeing and group camping equipment. Bring a sleeping bag and pad (rentals available). Group pick up point will be at the Park & Ride in Newburyport, Exit 57 off Rte. 95.

    Pre: Co: Elect: A five-week business skill session, taught by associates of Coporate Sense, Inc., for those people contemplating or in the process of changing careers. Myers-Briggs, a MUST profile evaluation, will be given to assess your talents, abilities and interests. Session topics include Self-Esteem and Assertiveness; Attitude and Humor; Resourcing and Communication Skills. There will be an additional $25.00 fee for the Myers-Briggs evaluation.
