ADMN 710: Administration Practicum Internship

This is a full year experience. In cooperation with school districts, MCLA offers internships/practica for certification candidates. The placement should be designed around five standards for licensure. Interns must be released from regular duties for at least 2/5th time, as defined in the Internship Program Packet.

Participants will use a problem solving approach to focus on the middle school concept and the multitude of issues surrounding this philosophical and organizational model. Real issues will be examined with participants developing strategies to deal with those issues. Dicussion will also focus on the future of middle level education in light of "Turning Points" and reaction by the State Department of Education.

Students submit a plan of administrative/supervisory objectives to their advisor, gradute committee, and internship supervisor. These objectives are to be agreed upon by their supervisor, advisor, and the school or district supervisor. Registration upon approval of advisor. This clinical experience occurs near the end of the CAGS program and is to be taken concurrently with CAGS 902 Seminar II.
