3 cr. 3 hr. This course looks at the contributions of significant women in music. Compositions by women from different cultures are examined as a reflection of the social, political and economic conditions. Elements of form, structure and historical style are studied from antiquity to modern times in musical genres such as symphony, opera, chamber music, song and solo repertoire. L
