The texts will be examined through appropriate literary analysis as well as through the theoretical principals of dept psychology.

Prerequisites: Eng 101 or instructor's permission. This course will introduce the student to the craft of playwriting. Emphasis will be placed on the construction of short plays and one-act plays. Through the readings of various plays and playwriting theories writing exercises and in-class presentation each student will become familiar with the process of playwriting. Learning will be demonstrated through work on dialog and plot the completion of a 10-minute play and a final project of a one-act play.
