Principles and theories of direct current and alternating control circuits, instrumentation and controls. Circuit analysis and the introduction to electronic test equipment. Students will analyze AC and DC circuits using mathematical and instrument methods. Prerequisite: None.

This is an introductory level course for students interested in employment in the oil and gas industry. Floorhand training for rotary drilling rigs as well as service rigs will be emphasized. Major topics within the course include, but not limited to, General Safety, Basic Tools and Equipment Use and Operation, Rigging, Swabbing, Tubing Servicing, and Terms and Definitions Used Within the Industry. Students who successfully complete the course work may be eligible for "Rig Pass" certification. Prerequisite: None

Topics covered, but not limited to, are: CDL (Class A & B), CPR & First Aid, Haz Mat and DOT Regulations, Confined Space Awareness, Fire Safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications, Environmental Awareness, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness, Drug & Alcohol Awareness. Topics and additional certifications will be made available based upon industry requests. Prerequisite: None

Principles of Technology I is an applied physics course oriented toward modern technology for students enrolled in any technical area. It is a curriculum that covers seven units, and demonstrates how a concept can be analyzed and applied to equipment and devices in mechanical, fluid, electrical, and thermal energy systems.
