Tools and techniques to improve performance of currently accepted Oracle server platforms; files and events supporting tuning process; application of tuning issues impacting database performance; tuning compenents and functions of shared pool and buffer cache. Monitor contents and usage of redo log buffer. Identify database configuration and I/O issues; SQL operations requiring sorts. Use direct writes for large sorts and allocate temporary space appropriately; Oracle tools to diagnose and resolve contention. Create tuning session, gather, view, and edit input data.
