Same as Phil 508. Introduction, examination, and analysis of principal texts and strategies of critical theory and continental aesthetics from Kant to Zizek. Topics to be studied include German aesthetics, phenomenology and hermeneutics, psychoanalysis, feminism, the Frankfurt School, structuralism, poststructuralism, deconstruction, postcolonialism, science studies, and media aesthetics.
