Self-promotion addresses business practices in regard to illustration and prepares the student in the fine art of packaging and promoting their work. Additionally, the Self Promotion student becomes well versed in legal and accounting issues relevant to the field of illustration; representation in the industry; and industry standards in pricing and contract negotiation. Course projects include database development, defining and targeting markets, traditional and digital marketing strategies, and assembling presentation materials critical to launching an illustration career.
