THEA 1100: Acting For The Novice

This course introduces the student to the art and craft of acting. It is designed to give the student an overview of the role of acting and the human experience, and an understanding of what it means to be an actor. Students will be explore aesthetic principles as well as practical applications of the craft of acting including warm-ups, physical and vocal awareness and expression, theatre terminology, basic character study, and the performance process. Acting for the Novice is an introductory course; experience and talent are less important than hard work and enthusiasm. This course is an elective and may satisfy one hour in student's degree requirements. This course is non-repeatable.
