Prerequisites: Minimum grades of C in COP 1006 and COP 2822 or department approval The syntax and semantics of scripting programming language will be covered. Covers major scripting languages, including but not limited to: Perl, Tcl, JavaScript, VBScript, PHP, ASP, and XML. Students will learn to write scripting language code, integrate the scripts intoWeb pages, and identify different uses and applications of scripts inWeb sites and/or other multimedia projects. Prerequisite: COP 1745. This course is designed to teach students to build and test interactive Internet applications. Working in graphical user interface (GUI) environment, students will learn to customize forms with user input items including check boxes, list items, and radio groups. Students will also learn to modify data access by creating event-related triggers. (Special Fee: $25.00).

This course is designed to give the student a firm foundation in basic database administrative tasks, and to provide a conceptual understanding of the architecture to students. Students will learn how architec- tural structures work and interact with one another, and will learn to create an operational database. Students will also learn to properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner in order to have a well- designed and operational database. Structured hands-on practical applications will be included. (Special Fee $25.00).

INTRODUCTION TO MATH AND PHYSICS FOR GAME PROGRAMMING Prerequisites: COP 1006 with a grade of C or higher This course teaches students the math and physics needed to program an interactive video game. Topics studied include: Geometry and trigonometry for collision detection and motion of graphical objects, limits, tangents, vectors, parametric equations, and real world physics.

Prerequisite: MAC 1105 or department approval This course builds basic mathematical logic skills and foundations of discrete mathematics. It is designed for students in the A.A. Pre-Major: Information Technology. Topics include statements; truth tables and tautologies; arguments; rules of demonstrations; conditional demonstrations and indirect proof; logic of quantifiers; algebra of sets; definitions and axioms of set theory; informal proof; relations and functions; mathematical induction; strings and other topics in discrete mathematics.

INTRODUCTION TO NETWORK SECURITY Prerequisite: CET 2486C This course covers a broad overview of security topics related to information security including: cryptography, security baselines, and current attack and coutner attack methods. The course covers methods to secure communications. Web security and hardening the Network infrastructure. It also teaches the student to develop comprehensive security and management policies. It looks at both Windows and Linux security techniques for hardening the operating system. The objectives of this course are mapped to Comptia's Security + Certification Exam. (Special Fee:$34.00)
