CLINICAL PRACTICE III Prerequisite: Both RET 1875L and RET 2714C, or departmental approval. Each student assigned clinical tasks and orientation in pulmonary function lab, cardiac catheterization and open heart surgery under supervision of staff respiratory therapist or clinical instructor. Approximately 24 contact hours for every four semester hours credit. (Special Fee: $34.50)

SELECTED TOPICS IN RESPIRATORY CARE Prerequisite: Departmental approval. Selected topics in respiratory care based on the needs and areas of interest of the class and the professor. May include laboratory and/or field work as part of the class. Multiple credit course. May be repeated for up to 3 hours of credit, but grade forgiveness cannot be applied.

PRINCIPLES OF INSURANCE This course outlines the process of marketing insurance products to the ultimate consumer and, as such, will benefit all insurance professionals from the novice to the seasoned professional. In addition, it prepares students for Part I of the INS-21 National Exam offered by the Insurance Institute of America.

PERSONAL INSURANCE Pre- requisite: RMI 1521 This is an in-depth course for all forms of personal insurance, including auto, home, life, health and miscellaneous coverages. It is designed for all insurance professionals - from producers to underwriters. In addition, it prepares students for Part II OF THE Ins-22 National Exam offered byt the Insurance Institute of America.

COMMERCIAL INSURANCE Pre- requisite: This course presents an in-depth study of all forms of commercial insurance including general liability, property, bonding, worker's compensation, package policies, and grage coverages. It is intended for all insurance professionals - from producers to underwriters. In addition, it prepares students for Part III of the INS-23 National Exam offered by the Insurance Institute of America.

PRINCIPLES OF CASUALTY INSURANCE & SURETY BONDING Prerequisite: RMI 1523 This course presents is an introduction to the eight areas of automobile liability and physical damage insurance, worker's compensation and employer's liability insurance, business, professional and personal liability insurance and health insurance plus miscellaneous casualty coverages.

PRINCIPLES OF PROPERTY INSURANCE Pre-requisite: RMI 1523 This course presents an introduction to the four areas of fire insurance: ocean marine, inland marine, surety and fidelity bond, and multiple-line coverage. For each of these four areas, specimen contracts are examined. The course covers each area with regard to the perils, losses, persons, locations, time and hazards.

ESSENTIALS OF RISK MANAGEMENT Pre-requisite: RMI 1613 This course focuses on the risk management decision-making process by identifying, analyzing and developing alternative techniques for treating loss exposures. In addition, it introduces the financial management foundation and guidelines for selecting the best risk management alternative and most appropriate technique for handling a loss exposure. (Preparation for Insurance of America ARM 54).

INTRODUCTION TO RADIOGRAPHY Prerequisite: Acceptance to Radiography A.S. Degree program Corequisites: HSC 1230C An overview of radiography and its role in health care delivery with orientation to academic and administrative structure and to the profession as a whole, including ethical and legal responsibilities, patient consent and hospital and departmental policies, and basic radiation protection principles. A minimum grade of C is required for all Radiography Program courses.
