    POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECH LAB I Prerequisite: Admission to Polysomnography Technology Program Provides laboratory instruction and practical experience in entry-level polysomnographic techniques. Topics include related medical terminology, conducting a patient sleep history, patient assessment, patient preparation, instrumentation setup and calibration, recording and monitoring techniques, documentation, patient- technologist interactions.     POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY II Corequisite: PSG 1001L, PSG 1800L Prerequisite: PSG 1000, PSG 1000L, PSG 1800L Provides instruction in advanced aspects of polysomnographic technology. This course expands upon the topics covered in Polysomnographic Technology I. Students will become familiar with the skills and knowledge needed to obtain and evaluate high quality sleep recordings. Topics include: sleep scoring and event recognititon, instrumentation setup and calibration, recording and monitoring techniques, documentation, therapeutic interventions, specialty sleep studies and patient- technologist interactions related to polysomnographic technology.     POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY II Corequisite: PSG 1001, PSG 1800L Prerequisite: PSG 1000, PSG 1000L, PSG 1800L This course is an extension of Polysomnographic Technology II. Provides laboratory instruction in advanced aspects of polysomnographic technology. Topics include: sleep scoring and event recognition, instrumentation setup and calibration, recording and monitoring techniques, documentation, therapeutic interventions, specialty sleep studies and patient- technologist interactions related to polysomnographic technology. (Special Fee: $20.00)

    POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY CLINICAL PRACTICUM I Co-requisite: PSG 1000, PSG 1000L Prerequisite: Admission into Polysomnography Technology Program An introduction to basic polysomnographic procedures performed in the clinical setting. Students will observe, perform (under supervision), and evaluate basic sleep studies. Students will be required to master the skills of: conducting a sleep history; patient assessment; patient preparation; instrumentation setup, calibration and operation; recording and monitoring procedures during the test; documentation; record keeping; and patient- technologist interactions.

    Prerequisite: Acceptance to Polysomnography Technology Advanced Technical Certificate program Corequisites: PSG 1000 and PSG 1000L An introduction to basic polysomnographic procedures performed in the clinical setting. Students will observe, perform (under supervision), and evaluate basic sleep studies. Students will be required to master the skills of: conducting a complete sleep history; patient assessment; patient preparation; instrumentation setup, calibration and operation; recording and monitoring procedures during the test; documentation; record-keeping; and patienttechnologist interactions.

    POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY CLINICAL PRACTICUM II Co- requisite: PSG 1001, PSG 1000L Pre-requisite: Minimum grade of "C" in PSG 1001, PSG 1000L, PSG 1800L A course designed to continue the development of skills and concepts begun in Practicum I. Students will observe, perform (under supervison), and evaluate basic and advanced sleep studies. In addition, this course will focus more on the scoring of sleep studies, therapeutic interventions used, and more advanced and specialized aspects of polysomnography designed to prepare the student for employment in the sleep lab and on preparation for the RPSGT credentialing examination. Students will be required to master the skills of: conducting sleep scoring and event recognition, CPAP titration, therapeutic and pharmacological interventions, specialty sleep studies and patient- technologist interactions related to polysomnographic technology.

In addition, this course will focus more on the scoring of sleep studies, therapeutic interventions used, and more advanced and specialized aspects of polysomnography designed to prepare the student for employment in the sleep lab and for taking the RPSGT credentialing examination. Students will be required to master the skills of: sleep scoring and event recognition, CPAP titration, therapeutic and phamacological interventions, specialty sleep studies and patienttechnologist interactions related to polysomnographic technology.
