The course will address these issues by examining historical materials and contemporary understanding of the impact of these variables on attitude, motivation, and learning. This course will engage students in both learning and teaching in that preservice teachers will acquire knowledge about teaching strategies tailored for this type of school environment and have opportunities to practice them as part of their field experience in these neighborhood schools.
