Prerequisite: COP 2335. The course focuses on technologies that support Open Source distributed software development, data storage and representation, and transport protocols. The course will teach students how to administer Open Source databases (i.e., Postgres, MYSQL). The course will teach students non-proprietary data representation and delivery technologies via XML related standards (DTD, Schema, Name Spaces, Xlink, XSL, XSLT) and XML based protocols (SOAP, XML-RPC). The course also addresses Web Services Protocols (i.e., WSDL and UDDI).
