Prerequisite: BUS 340 Offered every semester/Fast-Track Spring I Promotional Strategy is the study of the strategy and management of promotion practices. Students will explore techniques for planning, implementing, controlling and evaluating advertising and sales promotion activities. Topics covered include analysis of social, economic and legal aspects of advertising, determination of promotional objectives, selection of campaign themes, media planning and testing, copy preparation and production. A promotional plan will be developed.

Prerequisite: BUS 300 and 340 Offered every fall International Marketing focuses on aspects of international marketing and management in the world of international business. Different market and distribution systems in various countries are explored, as well as the social and economic factors in international markets. Analyses are made of the organization of trade channels in various cultures, of typical government policies toward international trade in countries at different stages of development, and of international marketing research and advertising. Other areas under study will include staffing consideration, planning in a global setting, and organization of the firm for international operations.

This course surveys basic concepts in chemistry as they apply to everyday life. Topics may include energy resources, the environment, food supplies, forensic tests, personal care products and pharmaceuticals.

This course surveys scientific laws, principles, models and concepts to help the students understand both environmental and resource problems and their possible solutions, and how these concepts, problems and solutions are connected. The effect of non-industrialized agricultural societies and industrialized societies on the environment is discussed. There is an overview of the effect of culture on people's view of the "man-nature" relationship.

Offered fall 2008 This course reviews fundamental concepts in arithmetic and algebra, introduces basic concepts in chemistry, and teaches problem-solving skills used in chemical calculations. Emphasis is on the use of dimensional analysis techniques. *Credit does not apply toward a minor in science.

Lecture /3/ and Laboratory /2/ Offered fall 2008 and spring 2009 Prerequisite: High school chemistry and placement into or completion of a MATH 100 or above-level course or CHEM 106 Introductory course in which lectures and laboratory work present the fundamental principles and theories of inorganic chemistry as they apply to allied health practices.

Lecture /4/ and Laboratory /2/ Prerequisite: CHEM 107 with a grade of C or better Offered fall 2008, spring and summer 2009 Lecture and laboratory work includes the study of organic chemistry and presents the fundamental principles and theories of biochemistry.

Lecture /3/ Discussion and Laboratory /4/ Prerequisite: High school chemistry and placement into or completion of a MATH 100 or above-level course or CHEM 106 Offered fall 2008 Topics include atomic structure, periodicity, basic quantum theory, bonding, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, the gaseous state, physical changes and states of matter, properties of solutions, and acids and bases.

Lecture /3/ Discussion and Laboratory /4/ Prerequisite: CHEM 111 Offered spring 2009 Topics include acid-base and solubility equilibria, kinetics, thermodynamics, electro-chemistry, coordination compounds, nuclear chemistry, and descriptive topics in inorganic chemistry.

Prerequisite: A high school or college chemistry course or consent of instructor Topics include those not regularly scheduled and not covered in other courses. Some anticipated topics concern nuclear science, forensic science, and environmental science.
