Prerequisite: CSC 335. Basic concepts of project management, data design, architecture, implementation and deployment of data warehouses. A number of case studies will be studied and one will be implemented. 3 credits.

Basic concepts of data mining including data representation, data visualization, data classification, association discovery and analysis, cluster formation and analysis, and anomaly detection and analysis. Prerequisites: CSC 305 and MAT 272. An introduction to intelligence systems which deal in some way with the physical world, through visual, acoustic or tactile means. Topics include vision, speech recognition, manipulation and locomotion. 3 credits

Computer Programming I Basic programming and programming structure, survey of computers, languages, systems, and applications. Computer projects are required in several numerical and non-numerical problems using one or more programming languages. Informal supervised lab work is required. 3 credits

Prerequisite: CSC 500 or fluency in at least one programming language. Further development of computer concepts and programming skills. In the context of an object-oriented language, topics such as classes, objects, operator overloading, inheritance, virtual functions, and polymorphism are covered. 3 credits

Internet Research Applications and Management Using Internet browsing, search, and social networking tools (Telnet, WWW, WAIS, FTP, Gophers, Usenet, Archie, et al.) to conduct and disseminate research. Creating and publishing web pages, basic site management, and extensive hands-on computer lab assignments. 3 credits

Computer Programming & Data Structures Problem solving methods, object-oriented programming and algorithm development, data abstraction and techniques for representing and processing information. An accelerated course that covers programming fundamentals to data structure designs. Departmental permission
