This seminar examines environmental, ethical, and socioeconomic issues of Latin America and the Caribbean.It integrates the hard sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, and physical geography), the social sciences (sociology, politics, economics, and business), and the humanities (history, ethics, theology, and literature).The capstone experience provides students with an overview of multiple perspectives on the environment of Latin America and the Caribbean with a focus on some specific countries and issues.Students conduct independent research projects that demonstrate their mastery of at least one component of each disciplinary group.This seminar counts for the capstone requirement for the minor in Applied Ethics, the minor in Environmental Studies, and the minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
