Topics include algebraic manipulations, properties of algebraic and trigonometric functions and their graphs, trig identities and equations, conic sections, polar coordinates and parametric equations. Introduces single variable calculus and analytic geometry. Includes limits, continuity, derivatives, and applications of derivatives as well as indefinite and definite integrals and some applications. Provides an opportunity for the highly-motivated student to engage in intensive study and research on a specified topic under direction of a faculty member. Prerequisites: Permission of instructor.

Provides an introduction to general meteorology and atmospheric sciences. It includes the composition and structure of the atmosphere and characteristics that affect the atmosphere, such as temperature, pressure, and moisture. Additionally, the development of weather systems, such as storm systems, hurricanes, weather fronts and cloud development will also be examined. Finally, concepts of climatology will be stressed. Introduces the student to the computer system developed for graphics. The student will learn the hardware and software components for multimedia production. Each student will explore basic computer operations, ergonomics, file management, scanning techniques, archiving capabilities, and utilization of the multimedia department server and internet connection.
