Builds upon the concepts introduced in NUR 112 Pharmacology I regarding the safe administration of medications to clients across the health continuum. Utilizing the nursing process the student demonstrates understanding of the role of the nurse as provider of care, manager of care, and member of the profession. Emphasis is placed upon the therapeutic use of medications in the nursing care of individuals with complex health needs. Introduces students to current trends in leadership and management concepts affecting the healthcare continuum and the practice of nursing. The student assumes the role of provider, manager of care and member of the discipline at the entry level into professional nursing. There is a practicum for application which may occur across the healthcare continuum, as the student manages groups of clients and health care personnel.
