Guides the student in understanding scientific thinking and research methods beyond the introductory level. Uses the research literature in nursing and related fields to illustrate the application of these principles. Student begins developing an area of research interest, identifies a research problem, reviews empirical literature, provides evidence for theoretical connections among identified research variables and scientific support for a clinical nursing intervention, and develops a scientific research proposal. Prerequisite: NRSG 680.
