This course introduces students to the changes taking place in the political, cultural and economic environment of India as a result of liberalization and restructuring of the economy. India is one of the largest emerging markets in the world. With a huge population, a democratic government, and vast and under-developed internal markets. The course provides information on key industries where there are business opportunities for foreign investment and includes a mandatory, extra-cost field-trip component consisting of a two-week trip to major industrial and commercial centers in India, to give students a first-hand exposure to the business environment and to provide opportunies to meet with industry and governmental leaders.
