4.00 Credits
Northeastern Illinois University
This course has been designed keeping in mind the Illinois Content Standards for Educators in Mathematics, the National Council on Teachers of Mathematics Teaching Standards and the content within the paired interdisciplinary science course. There will be three principle components of the course: 1) descriptive statistics, 2) basic probability theory and central limit theorem, 3) applied statistics in the form of confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. Contemporary critical technologies such as data warehousing and mining, and concept modeling may be considered. This course is linked with BIO-104 Environmental Biology, and BIO-105 Environmental Biology Lab.
