3 Semester Hours Field studies of the tropical marine habitats on Isla Roatán, Honduras. This includes the examination of physical, chemical, and ecological aspects as applied to coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, and intertidal communities. Summer only-Study Abroad Program. Prerequisites: BIOL 101, 102; CHEM 110, 112. Open water SCUBA certifi cation highly recommended.

3 Semester Hours Field studies of subtropical, intertidal, and subtidal habitats along the coasts of Baja, California peninsula. Emphasis on community structure. Summer only. Entire course held at the LMU Baja, California Biological Station. Prerequisites: BIOL 102, 111; CHEM 110, 112.
