Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of the English Placement Process or ENGL 52 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course is a general introduction to the literature composing the Hebrew Scriptures (more familiarly known as the Old Testament) in translation. Emphasis will be on understanding the Bible as a literary document through literary analysis, including the study of biblical genres such as history, poetry, narrative, drama, and homiletic, prophetic, apocalyptic and wisdom literature.
