Students will participate in live teleconferences and employ electronic technologies. This course may be taken for a maximum of 4 times.

    Class hours: 2.0 Lecture This course introduces students to the concepts and vocabulary of teleconferencing in small rooms and seminars. Emphasis is placed on safety, scheduling, event planning, wrap-around activities, audio and video fundamentals, audiographics, and networking. Students will critically review videos of professional, small-group encounters. This course may be taken for a maximum of 2 times.

    Class hours: 1.0 Lecture This course develops students' facility in developing telematics media, which employ both analog and digital technologies. Emphasis is placed on those production elements necessary to teleconferencing, including stage and set design, visual and audio media, meeting and conference protocols, and information gathering and distribution. This course may be taken for a maximum of 4 times.

    Class hours: 1.0 Lecture This course introduces students to the evaluation criteria of teleconferenced events. Students will attend events at the Teleconference Center and the local area and produce written evaluations that employ objective and subjective measurements, audience feedback, and principles of quality control. This course may be taken for a maximum of 4 times.

    Class hours: 3.0 Lecture This course provides students with direct experience in producing, directing, and evaluating live, interactive teleconferences, including auditorium, small group, and classroom site events. Emphasis is placed on safety, scheduling, event planning, "wrap-around" activities, audio and video fundamentals, audiographics, and networking. Students will co-produce and critically review live teleconference events. This course may be taken for a maximum of 3 times.

    Class hours: 3.0 Lecture This course helps students prepare a video demonstrating their expertise of interactive, teleconferenced meetings and events. The course is a requirement for all students completing the Certificate in Teleconferencing Practitioner. This course may be taken for a maximum of 3 times.

    Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/1.0 Laboratory The Fundamentals of Instructional Multi-Media Production course focuses on the multi-media skills needed to work within today's educational environments. The course provides a foundation in the use of multi-media production equipment, computer software applications, and other resources to support educators and educational programs. This course may be taken for a maximum of 2 times.

    Class hours: 1 lecture Corequisite: Enrollment in 7 or more units, including Educational Occupation Work Experience in a declared educational major. Three units of Educational Occupation Work Experience require 180 non-paid hours or 225 paid hours of work per semester. Work experience provides the opportunity for students to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to related experiences in the educational work place. The goal of the program is to assist students in expanding specific job skills. First semester students meet with their instructors for a minimum of one hour per week. Students also pursue a program of self-evaluation to determine individual job weaknesses and strengths. Semester projects that relate to a career in education must be completed at the training site. Second semester students must secure departmental approval before enrolling. Students will meet weekly with the instructor until their participatory assignments and semester work projects have been approved. Three units of Educational Occupation Work Experience requires 180 non-paid hours of work or 225 paid hours of work per semester. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times.

    Class hours: 1.0 Lecture This course teaches students the skills necessary to successfully complete a class on the Internet. Topics include study skills, online student profiles, introduction to the Internet and the World Wide Web, using email and other online services, and basic aspects of word processing.
