    Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/7.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: COS 62B or COS 70C or COS 73B with a grade of Pass of "C" or higher. This is an advanced course designed to permit the student to complete 1600 hours necessary to take the State Board of Cosmetology examination. It provides an opportunity for the student to continue developing manipulative skills in hairstyling, haircoloring, permanent waving, chemical straightening, scalp treatments, facials, waxing, manicuring, pedicuring, and thermal styling. This course may be taken for a maximum of 2 times as necessary to complete 1600 hours.

    Class hours: 4.2 Lecture/12.5 Laboratory Recommendation: Satisfactory completion of the English Placement Process or ENGL 20 with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher and satisfactory completion of the Reading Placement Process or READ 43 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is an introductory course in the technical and related theory and manipulative skills pertaining to the field of cosmetology. It is designed to acquaint the student with and to develop their ability to perform the basic skills in hairstyling, hairsculpturing,haircoloring, permanent waving, manicuring, and facials. Emphasis will be placed on the Cosmetology Act, State Board Rules and Regulations, safety, sanitation, anatomy, and chemistry as it relates to the cosmetology industry.

    Class hours: 4.2 Lecture/12.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: COS 50C or COS 60B or COS 70A or COS 71B with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is an intermediate course in technical and related theory as it pertains to cosmetology. It provides an opportunity for the student to consider developing manipulative skills in hair coloring, thermal hairstyling, chemical waving, chemical straightening, facials, make-up, manicuring. Emphasis is placed on professionalism and personal/client relationships.

    Class hours: 4.2 Lecture/12.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: COS 51C or COS 61B or COS 70B or COS 72B with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is a course in theory as it pertains to cosmetology. It provides an opportunity for the student to continue developing manipulative skill in haircoloring, thermal hairstyling, competition styling, hairsculpturing, conditioning, reconstruction, chemical waving, chemical straightening, facials, make-up, and manicuring. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, client relationships and State Board examination preparation. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times as necessary to complete 1600 hours.

This is an introductory course in the technical and related theory and manipulative skills pertaining to the field of cosmetology. It provides an opportunity for students to perform basic skills in press and curl, braiding, female and men's hairsculpture, and how to relate to people. It provides an opportunity for students to continue developing manipulative skill in hairstyling, haircoloring, permanent waving, manicuring, and pedicuring. Emphasis will be placed on safety and sanitation as it relates to the cosmetology profession, professionalism, and the client.

    Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/6.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: COS 61A or COS 72A with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is an intermediate course in theory as it pertains to cosmetology. It provides an opportunity for students to continue developing manipulative skills in thermal hairstyling, wet hairstyling, chemical waving, hairsculpturing, salesmanship, long hairstyling, chemical relaxing, and braiding to gain knowledge of tricology and chemistry, as they relate to cosmetology. People skills, press and curl, hair design, and men's hairstyling will also be studied. Emphasis is placed on professionalism and client relationships.
