    Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/3.0 Laboratory Recommendation: WMT 118 with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course will introduce the student to the materials, methods and tools used to make and manufacture a reproduction of an eighteenth century Windsor chair. Topics include layout, turning, bending, and shaping the various chair components, final assembly and finishing of the chair. Emphasis is placed on the safe use of tools and materials used in the chair construction. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

This course allows students to perfect and hone skills acquired during previous traditional furniture classes. In this class, students will design and construct traditional furniture pieces of their choice that are variations of pieces constructed in earlier classes. Emphasis is placed on safety, hand tool operations, and traditional construction and finishing techniques. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 1.0 Lecture/3.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 201 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. In this course, students will explore advanced topics in woodworking with handtools. Topics may include joinery, dovetails, jigs, saw sharpening, handplanes, or other advanced subjects. The specific topic of a particular offering will be announced in the Schedule of Classes. This course may be taken a maximum of 4 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 102 and WMT 103 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. Recommendation: WMT 201 This advanced course will reinforce skills learned in previous classes and challenge the student to demonstrate the ability to plan, design, fabricate and finish a chest of drawers. The course will allow the student more in-depth experience in solid-wood-panel side and frame-and-panel methods of construction. The focus will be on the carcass as well as on drawer construction. Topics include history, planning, design, fabrication and finishing as they pertain to building a chest of drawers. The course may be taken a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 102, WMT 103, and WMT 132 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. Recommendation: WMT 130 This advanced furniture making course introduces the student to the methods, materials, tools and machinery used in the fabrication of a rocking chair. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/6.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 102 and WMT 103 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. The course enables students to work as a team in the manufacturing of a limited edition of student-designed furniture items. The course includes all the steps from setting up a furniture plant to building a finished furniture product. This course may be taken f a maximum of 3 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 8.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 102 or WMT 103 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course allows students to perfect and hone skills acquired during previous furniture courses. In this lab, students will design and construct woodworking projects that are relevant to the subject matter being taught during the same time period. This course may be taken a maximum of 4 times.     Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 151 and WMT 181 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience. In this course the student will review and learn additional methods, materials, tools, and machinery used in the design, manufacturing, and installation of face frame cabinetry. Classroom topics include the history, design, milling, assembly, and installation of face frame cabinetry. Students will work in teams to design, fabricate and install a complete set of kitchen cabinets. A major emphasis will be on production techniques and the safe use of woodworking machinery and materials involved in cabinetmaking and millwork. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times.     Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 250 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience. This course provides the student the opportunity to improve faceframe cabinetmaking skills by the use of tool and machinery specific to advanced faceframe cabinetmaking and millwork. Topics include inset door fabrication, coopered door construction, linen fold and other special panel detailing as well as applied moldings, appliqués and carvings. Students will fabricate a series of project samples for use in future advanced cabinetmaking projects. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 153 and WMT 181 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience. Recommendation: WMT 281 In this course the student will review and learn additional methods, materials, tools, and machinery used in the design, manufacturing, and installation of European 32MM system cabinetry. Classroom topics include the history, design, milling, assembly, and installation of European 32MM system cabinetry. Students will work in teams to design, fabricate and install a complete set of European cabinets. A major emphasis will be focused on production techniques and the safe use of computerized numerical control panel processing machinery. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times.
