This course covers principles and problems in urban development such as basic methods of statistical analysis and interpretation, controlling land use, patterns of land use for commercial and industrial facilities, economic aspects of real estate investment theory, economic utilization, land resources, public housing, urban renewal and rehabilitation, and impact of environmental controls.     Class hours: 1 hr. /wk coordination class Prerequisite: RE 101 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. Corequisite: Enrollment in 7 or more units, including Real Estate Occupational Work Experience/Career Internship, in a declared real estate major. Two units of Business Real Estate Occupational Work Experience/Career Internship require 120 non-paid hours of work or 150 paid hours of work per semester. Work Experience/Career Internship provides the opportunity for students to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to exacting experiences in the workplace. The aim of the course is to assist students in becoming more productive workers. In the process of doing so, it creates greater communication with increased understanding between the broker/sponsors, student/trainees, and the college. First-semester students meet with their instructors for a minimum of one hour per week. Students also pursue a program of self-evaluation to determine individual job weaknesses and strengths. Semester projects that relate to their major and job skills must be completed on the job/training site. Second, third-, and fourth-semester students must meet weekly with the instructor until their participatory assignments and semester work projects have been approved.     Class hours: 1 hour/week coordination class Prerequisite: Completion of 12 units in Business Administration, Business Real Estate or Paralegal or equivalent. The Business Real Estate Occupational Work Experience Alternate Plan is supervised employment of students designed to offer students opportunities to attend college full-time one semester and work full-time the following semester. Job experience must relate directly to the student's educational goals. Up to eight (8) units may be earned in one semester. Occupational work internship is supervised employment of students designed to extend their classroom-based occupational learning at an on-the-job learning station in fields directly related to their educational or occupational goals.     Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Recommendation: RE 101 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher This course covers hands-on training using WinForms, creating a market analysis for sellers, searching the Multiple Listing Service for properties, and then downloading or e-mailing these offerings for presentation to buyers, renting versus buying analysis presentation to buyers, renting versus buying analysis, and using realist.com to locate owner of properties. In addition, students will learn how to calculate a seller's net sheet when selling a home, as well as a buyer's net sheet when purchasing a home. (Formerly BUSR 50)

    Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Recommendation: RE 101 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher or concurrent enrollment. This course covers materials used by the State of California Department of Real Estate in preparing test questions for Real Estate License examinations. The major topics studied are real estate law, real estate practice, real estate principles, real estate finance, real estate appraisal, real estate taxations, and real estate economics.
