4.00 Credits
Class hours: 4.0 Lecture Prerequisite: MATH 114 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course is a survey of calculus designed to meet lower division university and four- year college requirements for the management, biology or social science major student. Topics included are differentiation and integration of algebraic, logarithmic and exponential functions of single and multi-variables, related rates, areas, and curve sketching. This course is not open to students with credit in MATH 170. The class does not meet the prerequisite for Mathematics 190. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC* *UC credit limits may apply. MATH 116 and MATH 170 combined: maximum credit, one course.
-
3.00 Credits
Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Prerequisite: MATH 80 (or MATH 80B) and MATH 70 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. This course includes circular functions, inverses, graphs, angles and trigonometric functions, solutions of right and oblique triangles, identities, solution of equations, and complex numbers. This class may be taken in Programmed Learning Sections. See your counselor for details. Transfer Credit: CSU

4.00 Credits
Class hours: 4.0 Lecture Prerequisite: MATH 140 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course is a critical study of the algebra of real and complex numbers which includes selected topics such as the number system, inequalities, and the binomial theorem, sets, matrices, sequences and series. Exponential, logarithmic, polynomial and inverse functions are included. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC* *UC credit limits may apply. MATH 114 and MATH 150 combined: maximum credit, one course
-
1.00 Credits
Class hours: 3.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: MATH 150 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher, or concurrent enrollment. This course is an introduction to modern mathematical software commonly used in universities and industry. The topics will be specifically selected to enhance and augment MATH 150 Precalculus Mathematics course using the powerful numeric, symbolic, and graphical capabilities of the mathematical software and will better prepare students for calculus. Transfer Credit: CSU

4.00 Credits
Class hours: 4.0 Lecture Prerequisite: MATH 150 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. Students who have not taken MATH 150 must attain a satisfactory score on the Calculus Readiness Test. This course is the first semester of calculus, designed to meet lower division university and four-year college requirements. Topics included are differentiation and integration of algebraic, and trigonometric functions with applications. The necessary topics of analytic geometry are presented as needed to proceed with the principles of calculus. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC* *UC credit limits may apply. MATH 116 and MATH 170 combined: maximum credit, one course.
