    Class hours: 3.0 Lecture This course is intended to help individuals learn basic information regarding the whole area of commercial insurance. Covered in this course is information concerning commercial property insurance, business income insurance, commercial crime insurance, equipment breakdown insurance, inland and ocean marine insurance, commercial general liability insurance, commercial automobile insurance, business owners policies and farm insurance, workers compensation and employers liability insurance, and other miscellaneous coverage.     Class hours: 1.0 hour/week coordination class. Corequisite: Enrollment in 7 or more units, including Insurance Occupational Work Experience. One unit of Insurance Occupational Work Experience requires 72 non-paid hours or paid hours of work per semester. Work Experience/Career Internship provides the opportunity for students to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to related experiences on the job/training site. The aim of the course is to assist students in expanding specific job skills. This creates greater communication with increased understanding between the student/workers, the college, and the employer/trainers. First semester students meet with their instructors for a minimum of one hour per week. Students also pursue a program of self-evaluation to determine individual job weaknesses and strengths. Semester projects that relate to their major and job skills must be completed on the job/training site. Students will meet weekly with the instructor until their participatory assignments and semester work projects have been approved. This course may be taken a maximum of 4 times. Transfer Credit: CSU

    Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Recommendation: Satisfactory completion of the English Placement Process or ENGL 52 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. Students will study problem-solving concepts and strategies from an interdisciplinary perspective needed to succeed as a lifelong learner. Various theories and models for learning and intellectual development of adults and college students will be addressed. Emphasis is placed on the application of metacognitive strategies and problem-solving concepts to issues and problems associated with mastering the college experience. Transfer Credit: CSU

The course will introduce and familiarize students with skills and theories necessary for creating an effective partnership between service provider and service recipient.     Class hours: 3.0 Lecture This course provides an overview of special populations with mental illness, including the homeless, transitional age youth, the elderly, veterans, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, individuals with physical disabilities, individuals with substance abuse, and different racial and ethnic groups. Emphasis is placed on the issues that are specific to special populations with mental illness, including living skills, education, self-development, empowerment, leadership, transitional support, and recovery efficacy.     Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 153 and WMT 181 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience. Recommendation: WMT 281 In this course the student will review and learn additional methods, materials, tools, and machinery used in the design, manufacturing, and installation of European 32MM system cabinetry. Classroom topics include the history, design, milling, assembly, and installation of European 32MM system cabinetry. Students will work in teams to design, fabricate and install a complete set of European cabinets. A major emphasis will be focused on production techniques and the safe use of computerized numerical control panel processing machinery. This course may be taken a maximum of 2 times.     Class hours: 1.5 Lecture This survey course is a study of ISO 9000:2000, the quality standard established by the International Standard Organization, as it applies to the manufacturing industry. Materials covered will include the ISO 9000 documents and selected references on the topic. Special emphasis will be placed on the advantages of implementing an ISO 9000 Quality System in an industrial manufacturing environment.
