An overview of what it takes to begin showing and selling artworks, including the skills and procedures of presenting artwork to galleries. A study of contracts, loan agreements, invoicing, commissions, model releases, taxes, pricing of work, resumes, slide preparation/presentation, publicity skills, and record keeping. Intended for non-Art majors who are preparing to become elementary school teachers in California, providing subject matter study in art appropriate for grades 1 - 6. Students will learn the components and strands of visual arts education found in the California Visual and Performing Arts Framework. Students will explore five major areas: artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural contexts, aesthetic valuing, and the connections and relationships between the visual arts and other disciplines.
