This course examines the shifts from linear to non-linear communication and the demand that places on the author and audience. Students will explore how the technology of computer-based new media communication brings freedoms and limitations and how traditional communication elements of design and color theory must be reconsidered in light of those challenges. Discussions will include how social and economic factors have created a technological-divide and how this divide has become a critical aspect of new media communication.
